Bangor: - Eating Disorders Support
Group meets Tuesdays from 7-8pm at 6 State Street, Suite 208.
- This
support group is free and open to older adolescents (17+) and adults struggling with an eating

will resume its Tuesday evening meetings on September 7, 2010. Please feel free to contact me if you have questions.
- Eating Disorders Anonymous meets Wednesdays from 6-7pm at Acadia Hospital in the Osprey
Room.
- This group will meet on Wednesday evenings from 6-7pm beginning December

Statewide: - Treatment professionals
who have expressed an interest in working with individuals with eating disorders are currently being identified throughout
the State of Maine. Twenty-one areas/locations in Maine are currently established.
The individual assembling
these teams and contact person to identify professionals closest to you is: Mary Orear, Executive Director of Mainely Girls. Click here to contact Mary Orear. - Currently the areas/locations that have providers
identified are (from the Mainely Girls website): Augusta, Bangor, Belfast, Blue Hill, Calais, Camden, Caribou, Colby, Damariscotta,
Ellsworth, Farmington, Lewiston, Portland, Skowhegan, South Portland, Unity, Waterville, Windham, and York-Kennebunk-Scarborough,
and at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, and the Long Creek Youth Development Center in South Portland.
- It is important to note that not all providers are specialists in working with individuals with eating disorders.
It is important to verify not only training but also your comfort level with any provider to whom you entrust your
care.
Portland: - New England Eating Disorders Program
This program is the only in-patient program in the State of Maine. This program is located at Mercy
Hospital in Portland, Maine. Contact Mercy Hospital directly for more information about the program's suitability for
your needs.
